Anchor — Unplug for 7 Days · Last updated February 2026

Anchor is built to help you disconnect, not to collect your data. We keep things minimal. Here's exactly what happens with your information.

What We Collect

Onboarding answers

When you set up your challenge, you answer a few multiple-choice questions about your phone habits. These answers are sent to our server to generate your personalized 7-day challenge using AI. They are not stored on any server after your challenge is generated. Once you get your plan, the answers are gone.

Anonymous analytics

We use PostHog to track anonymous usage events — things like which screens you visit, buttons you tap, and whether you completed onboarding. No personal identifiers are attached. This helps us understand how people use the app so we can make it better.

Purchase data

Your one-time purchase is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat stores an anonymous user ID and your purchase receipt to manage access. No email, name, or account is required. We never see your payment details — Apple handles all of that.

Push notifications

Anchor sends daily reminder notifications during your challenge. These are scheduled locally on your device. No push tokens are sent to any server. Everything stays on your phone. You can disable notifications anytime in your phone's Settings.

What We Don't Collect

  • No account or login required
  • No email, name, or personal information
  • No location data
  • No access to contacts, photos, or other device data
  • No advertising or tracking SDKs
  • No data is sold to third parties. Ever.

Third-Party Services

Anchor uses three third-party services. Here's what each one does:

PostHog — Anonymous analytics. Tracks usage events without personal identifiers. PostHog Privacy Policy

RevenueCat — Manages your in-app purchase. Stores an anonymous ID and purchase receipt. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Anthropic (Claude API) — Generates your personalized challenge from your onboarding answers. Your answers are processed by Claude AI and not retained after generation. Anthropic Privacy Policy

Data Retention

Your challenge data and progress are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We don't keep any of it on our servers. If you delete the app, all local data is deleted with it.

Anonymous analytics events are retained by PostHog according to their standard retention policy. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat to validate your purchase.

Children's Privacy

Anchor is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has somehow provided data through the app, reach out and we'll address it.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the “last updated” date at the top. For significant changes, we may notify you through the app. Continued use of Anchor after changes means you're okay with the updated policy.
